
Matt Lewis – Chief Operating Officer, Shared Resource Service (SRS)
Matt Lewis is an experienced leader in public sector digital transformation, serving as Chief Operating Officer at the Shared Resource Service (SRS) in Wales. With over three decades of experience spanning multiple sectors and disciplines, including 25 years in IT, Matt’s career began as an Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice with a global chemical manufacturer. He progressed through a variety of roles, from Help Desk to European and Asia Operations Lead, earning a reputation for delivering results and building high-performing teams.
At SRS since 2010, Matt is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that enhance service delivery, foster innovation, and support the digital ambitions of partner organisations. He is known for his collaborative approach, pragmatic leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement. Matt’s work is underpinned by a belief in the power of partnership, resource optimisation, and the importance of tailored solutions that respect the unique needs of each organisation.
A strong advocate for professional development, Matt returned to university mid-career to earn both a degree and a MBA. He credits his mentors and family for their support and is passionate about creating opportunities for others to grow. Matt also serves as the Chair of the AI Leadership Group for Wales which is a pan public sector group and he sits on the Welsh Ministerial AI Advisory Group.
Based in Usk, Monmouthshire, Matt is dedicated to delivering value for the communities served by SRS and welcomes collaboration with professionals who share his vision for public service excellence.
